Botox and Fillers in Veneta and Eugene, OR

Dermal fillers are injected into facial tissue to add structure and volume, while Botox temporarily paralyzes muscles to smooth out the skin above them. At Veneta Dental, we offer customized treatment plans for our patients. During your consultation, our dentist will examine your skin and discuss your goals to determine which procedure is best for you.

Botox

Botox is a neuromodulator that is injected into certain muscles of the face to relax them and smooth out facial wrinkles temporarily. It is most commonly used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, and mouth.

Botox can also be used to treat medical conditions such as TMJ. This injectable is FDA-approved and safe to use when administered by a licensed medical professional.

The treatment provides a beautiful, natural look that lasts for three to six months. Many patients schedule appointments twice a year to maintain results.

Botox Application

Botox can be administered in the comfort of the dentist’s office with virtually no downtime. A numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to injection to ensure patient comfort. After the procedure, patients may experience slight swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites. These effects typically subside within two to three days. Patients can immediately return to work or other activities after treatment.

Fillers

Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found in the body. Hyaluronic acid breaks down in the skin over time and is lost as you age. Dermal fillers are synthetically made and very safe to use on the body.

Depending on the area being treated, you may need multiple syringes of filler to complete the procedure, so it is considered an “invasive” treatment. Multiple injections are needed for optimal results. Some common injection sites are the nasolabial folds and the lips. Treatments can last up to six months or more, depending on the product used and how your body responds to it.

Dentists are best equipped to offer fillers because of their knowledge of facial muscles and other anatomy in the face. Dentists can also assess your smile line to determine if dermal fillers will help to achieve your desired appearance. They can recommend the use of dermal fillers to improve the appearance of your smile and correct issues such as asymmetry, lack of harmony among your facial features, or structural defects in your teeth or gums.

Fillers Application

Before your procedure, your dentist will use topical anesthetics to numb the treatment area. The dermal filler will then be injected using very small needles and will fill out your treatment area in just a few minutes. You may experience some swelling and redness in the treatment area immediately following your injections, but these effects should dissipate within a few days. Your dentist may recommend icing the injection sites to minimize these side effects and facilitate healing.
